Verify your identity

We will ask you proof of ID, address and income before you can submit your application, in line with our legal obligation to confirm that you have the Right to Rent.

It will save you time if you have these ready when applying for a property. You will not be able to submit an application without them.

Proof of ID

Proof of Identification is required for each member of the household. We will accept any one of the following types of identification:

  • passport
  • driving licence
  • birth certificate
  • identity card
  • immigration documents
  • resident permit for all members of the household

Proof of address

We will accept one of the following as proof of address:

  • utility bill (dated within last 3 months)
  • council tax statement
  • housing benefit letter
  • current tenancy agreement

Proof of income

We will accept proof of income as follows:

  • recent benefits letter
  • a UC screenshot
  • five weekly wage slips
  • two monthly wage slips
  • annual pension letter
  • self-employed tax return

Please do not provide bank statements at this stage as we are not able to accept these as valid verification documents.

We will ask for your latest bank statements if we progress your application.

Upload instructions

Please make sure your documents are:

  • the size of each document does not exceed 4MB
  • the documents are PDF, JPEG or PNG files
  • do not upload more than 5 files at the same time
  • repeat the process until you have uploaded all your supporting documentation
  • please preview all documents before uploading them
  • documents must be clear and legible to the recipient

Technical support

If you are unable to upload your documents please try the following:

  • sign out of your account and sign back in again
  • check your internet connection
  • access the website on a different web browser such as Google Chrome, Edge or Safari
  • upload one document at a time
  • upload smaller file sizes
